Easter Island, Chile
Easter Island is famous for its 887 extant monumental statues, more commonly called “moai”, created by the early Rapa Nui people. Every statue weighs about 10 to 11 tonnes, so how did the native transport them from one place to another a thousand years ago? Who were these moai represented? Were these moai gods? I was so thrilled to find out the answers in our recent trip to Easter Island!
